Sharing 4U for the first time

I went to sleep last night thinking of a quote by Anais Nin:

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud, was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”

I heard these words for the first time 15 years ago. I was learning what it means to walk boldly into your own becoming. Learning that to be an artist is to commit to a lifelong process of turning towards the shadows and bringing them to light. Telling and retelling history–both personal and communal–so that we may find new ways forward.

4U is the story of how I lost myself in heartbreak, and how I found my way back home.

And I know it’s not just my story.

As I prepare to share this music with you for the first time, I’m realizing how much I still have to learn from the songs. They have been my companions and guides over the last two years, a reckoning with who I was and who I am becoming. But the alchemy of music creation truly takes place in the sharing. When my story becomes your story and we see ourselves in each other. This is when the songs take on a life of their own.

These songs bare my heart and soul, but the album is 4U.

Tonight in Brooklyn I’ll be sharing the album in it’s entirety for the very first time.

The evening will feature:

  • A short live performance

  • An intentional listening session

  • Guided Q&A

  • A cathartic release in the form of a dance party with Nour Jamil!

We'll have custom SUNBOY cocktails and drinks flowing all night.

There will be multiple ways to engage with each other and the music. I hope you can take part in the experience!

Where: 198 N 4th St in Brooklyn

When: 7-11pm (music begins promptly at 8)

Can’t make the event but still want to support?

What is a pre-order?

Buy the album and you’ll get access to the title track today, the rest of the album will be yours on release day, 10/10!

Thank you to every one of you that continues to follow along and support in every way. I’m sending all my love,
