Back Where We Started
Premiering 4U in Austin this Sunday at Waterloo Records
Hello from Austin, Texas!
Since we last spoke, I’ve been to New Orleans and back, played a sweet show with my band and my friend Anna Moss, and got the chance to soak in some amazing music.
I’m happy to be back in Austin for a couple days soaking up the sun before I return to frosty New York.
On Sunday, I’ll be sharing my album at Waterloo Records!
This is a huge deal for me. Some of my favorite artists have hosted listening parties at Waterloo and I’m honored to join the ranks.
As you know by now, this album tells the story of the end of a six year relationship, my move from Texas to New York, and how I found my way back to myself at a time that I felt quite lost.
Writing and recording these songs was a self prescribed healing process that encouraged me to confront uncomfortable truths, feel the depths of my feelings and transform something painful into something beautiful.
4U Album Listening Party & Talkback with Quentin
SUNDAY, November 16th
4-6 pm
Waterloo Records (New Location at 1105 N. Lamar)
At the start of the event I’ll be playing a few songs live including the song “ACL” – which if you haven’t figured out yet stands for Austin City Limits. It’s a love song to a growing city and the way things change before we’re ready to accept it.
![]() | In true synchronistic magic, Quentin just finished the mixes and masters on their own breakup album three years in the making. As two self determined and slightly obsessive Capricorns we’ve learned over the years that we share a deep commitment to writing and recording music in a way that honors the journey and the process. We both write songs that are honest ,raw and unapologetic. Talking with Quentin often feels like digging gems of wisdom out of the depths of my soul. I’m honored to be in conversation with them and even more excited that you get to be a part of it. |
I hope to see you on Sunday at Waterloo. If you can’t make it, consider telling your Austin friends to swing by. It’s free and who doesn’t love a trip to an iconic record shop!
Back in New York…
Friday, 11/21 8-11pm
Commune NYC
P.S.
I joined a Songwriting group with a couple friends and am writing a song a week. It feels good to be back in the flow of writing and I thought it could be fun to share these baby songs with you! Here’s a song I wrote about New Orleans! Who knows, maybe someday some of these songs will end up on another record and you can say you knew them way back when…
All my love,
